For over 20 years, Capital Builders has been building better lifestyles in the Wellington area.
Our Story
Capital Builders was established in (the year) 2000, by Brent Sarten.
Brent initially started his professional career as an accountant, but during a home renovation project he realised building was his calling. After completing the job, he left his accounting career and started towards his building qualification.
Capital Builders’ first big project was building Brent’s new family home. Brent and the Capital Builders team, then went on to hone their craft. As well as continuing with new builds, they also started to enjoy the challenges of working on extensions and renovations – particularly older villas that needed to retain their character while making better living environments.
Now, led by Brent, Capital Builders is team of seven, which includes two amazing foremen who have 30+ years of experience. We are proud to be delivering end-to-end building services for people and their families throughout greater Wellington.

For us, building better lifestyles is what it’s all about. Whether that’s with an extension, renovation, or new build, our team cares about how the finished home looks, and importantly, how it works with your lifestyle. The point is to make it a place you look forward to going home to.
We also want you to have a good experience along the way, so we are proud to be able to take care of the entire process. We have the project management skills to make your build run as smoothly as possible. We know our experienced sub-trade contractors are able to do a quality job, so you won’t have to worry about the workmanship in the future. As Licensed Building Practitioners and members of the NZ Certified Builders Association, we also provide a 10-year warranty on all our work.
Our Process
Your architect or designer may recommend us, or you may contact us from the very start of the process. Our approach is to listen to the challenges you have with your home and to understand the aspects you want to change.
We will look for your homes potential positive attributes and the steps we can take to bring these into your lifestyle. For example, you may have a potential view, underutilised natural light or space, or the opportunity for better indoor-outdoor flow.
